I used to listen to another so called Oldies station and found your station when looking for some real oldies. I like those old 50′s and 60′s tunes. They bring back great memories of my youth.
    Keep up the good work.

  • Larry

There is a wonderful selection of music on here. My mother visited not too lond ago from Oregon and now she listens to 1600 on her computer frequently. Strangely enough, I don’t mind listening to the commercials either, because most of them simply inform and don’t insult your intelligence or have annoying background “music”. Reminds me of the way radio used to be.

Thanks for your on the air humor Double C — you’re a real hoot!

  • Double C

Thank You Howard & Larry For Your Kind Words and Thanks For taking The Time To Write. I look Forward to hearing frrom you again

    Thanks

  • Frisco Pete

Love the postcard idea. I knew Scott “Owens” back when he had a different name. I guess you radio boys change names all the time. Play Fever Tree – San Francisco Girls for Frisco Pete!!!!!!

Double S says The Owl Cafe has meatballs bigger than Tiger Woods’ golf balls. I bet they don’t cost as much as his golf balls either.

Hey, Double C, 1600 is a great station! I listen to it
all the time in the car! I hear at the stores where I shop too..Now if the boss weren’t such a scrooge with silly rules I’d have it on all the time at work too..darn it!
I really enjoy.. “Story behind the songs” that comes on about 6:50am weekdays and Dick Clark on the weekends, I also caught bits of “News Years 1957 special.. on New Years day, Any chances of bringing back the “Wolfman Jack Show” to the air waves?
are there any other special programs, that you’ll be airing?
    keep up the good work!
    1600 Real Oldies Rocks!

This is a super listen at work station. I work at a customer service desk for a real estate services company and we get probably a couple hundred calls and/or visitors each day. The music and fun really helps me get through the day! My co-worker at the front desk likes it too, and I’ve even noticed some of the customers boppin’ around when they hear the music…

  • Gary Moore

I am a real oldie too. thats why I like the music that you play. and the way you play 16 in row. I found your station online. I am in Lawrence kansas and I listen to you online all the time. i am retired and i am a animal lover.

  • John in Tacoma

I’m going to be paying a visit to Albuquerque probably in October. My son and daughter-in-law who live there are having their first baby this fall. I’m gonna be a grampa and eat at The Owl Cafe!

  • lol – I had to read it a few times, but I got the point :p

  • Make Sure You Come By the Station and say Hi

  • Diane&Jerry in the South Valley

We love the Doo-wop show on Sundays but 1 hour is not enough. It should be at least 2 hours. The bigger the better. Thanks, D&J

  • Gary Moore

I can not get you link to work to get your station in my real player right now I am dead in the water

  • I am Glad You Like It, I will talk To Dan The Doo Wop Man Ya Never Know

  • Jim Riley

I spent my teen years (early – late 60′s) listening to my favorite (top 40) music on AM radio in SoCal. It is interesting that now, to find the music that I like, I have returned to AM radio. Keep it up.

  • Ron Kocher

Now THIS is a REAL oldies radio station! The others play hundreds…you play thousands!! An amazing variety — and since you’re locally programmed, I don’t have to listen to those same old Geico, Netflix and Safelight commercials over and over and over again. This is SO much better than the True Oldies Channel! Thanks so much for streaming your audio. It’s the only way I can listen right now…by the way, when are you going to 50kw? Thanks for everything you’re doing!

  • Barb

I love Real Oldies and in order to keep it on the air, I do patronize many of the places that you advertise. Someone else mentioned the fact that you really do play oldies from the 50′s and 60′s, whereas your competitor feels the need to play a lot of 70′s music. Please keep it real—play REAL OLDIES as you almost always do. If we wanted 70′s music there are other stations that play almost exlusively 70′s and 80′s music so please leave our oldies alone! And I miss Mike McCoy on Saturdays and his request show. I loved it!

  • Thanks Barb. Rest assured we always have our base in the 60′s & 50′s

  • Thank You Ron for your kind words. I hope one day we will get to the 50kw promise land…we keep asking the FCC

  • Well after all AM radio is where they all became Hits. Who said you can’t go home. Thanks For Listening

  • randy in philly pa

I live in Philly PA where all the oldies stations play the same 200 tired worn out junk. Since I stumbled to you on line I listen all the time when on my computer a fantastic format many oldies and oh wow tunes….fantastic…
